During a holiday on one of the islands in the north of the Netherlands, the artist was struck by the wide flat landscape. This kind of landscape gave her a feeling of freedom. It was an inspiration to make a number of paintings in this theme. The simplicity of the subject, gave her the opportunity to experiment with a variety of materials. As a result, each painting has a different unique atmosphere.

Spring flowers such as cherry blossom, tulips, wisteria etcetera stand for renewal, growth. Winter is over, darkness, and light is coming, spring. Everything starts to grow and bloom again.
